When a Parisian florist begins following clues she believes might lead to her missing son, she is drawn into a world of forgotten monuments and forbidden places—only to discover that the secrets she is chasing may lie closer than she ever imagined.

Fifty-one-year-old Rosalie arranges bouquets in her Paris flower shop and invents imaginary lives for her customers. Her own life has stood still since her eighteen-year-old son Sandro disappeared without a trace ten years ago. With no body to bury and no explanation for his disappearance, Rosalie cannot bring herself to grieve. To stop waiting for Sandro would feel like abandoning him.

So, when an old photograph and a key are mysteriously left for her, Rosalie becomes convinced someone is trying to tell her something about her son.

Then she meets Lucien, a metro driver, and through him, Rosalie soon discovers The Insomniacs Society, a secret circle devoted to preserving the city’s neglected monuments. Custodians of knowledge passed down through generations, its members work under the cover of night—on forbidden rooftops, into suspended gardens—restoring what has been abandoned and protecting what might otherwise disappear.

As Rosalie is drawn deeper into this hidden side of Paris, something in her begins to shift. For the first time in ten years, she is no longer only waiting for Sandro. She begins to wait for nightfall, and for Lucien too, whose presence opens the possibility of a future she had stopped imagining.

But can Rosalie trust what she sees? Are the clues really leading her towards Sandro? And did Lucien truly enter her life by chance?
