Tara Zahra

Tara Zahra is the Hanna Holborn Gray professor of History at the University of Chicago and the Roman Family Director of the Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society. She is the author of five books, including Against the World: Anti-Globalism and Mass Politics between the World Wars; The Great War and the Transformation of Habsburg Central Europe (with Pieter M. Judson), and The Great Departure. Zahra has been the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.  A lifelong amateur dancer, her current research focuses on the intersections of dance and history. She lives with her family in Chicago, IL.
