Tom Service wins Presto Prize for A History of the World in 50 Pieces!

We are delighted to share the news that Tom Service has been announced winner of the Presto Music Prize’s ‘Book of the Year‘ Award!

Based in Royal Leamington Spa, UK, Presto Music is the UK’s leading ecommerce site for classical and jazz recordings (CDs, DVDs, high quality downloads and vinyl), printed music, music books and musical instruments. Founded in 1986 as a small high street shop, the Presto Music website was started in 2001 and has grown into one of the most significant online sites for music products in the world.

Awards were held in the original Leamington Spa shop, where they revealed five winners for the music book award category. Tom Service’s A History of the World in 50 Pieces was recognised alongside John Williams’ A Composer’s Life, Anne Sebba’s The Women’s Orchestra of Auschwitz, Jessica Duchen’s Myra Hess: National Treasure, and Nigel Simeone’s Edward Elgar and Adrian Boult.
