The Ice
Represented by Thérèse Coen
Both chilling and exciting, The Ice is a story about finding yourself and your place in life—and that our origins may not always be what we think…
A few years after fleeing Syria, Josef and his family end up in Sweden, in the coastal village of Freivik. Once upon a time, Freivik was an idyllic place, but now the whole village is empty and stinks of something rotten. Josef soon learns that strange things are happening in the small community. How can the ice remain in the bay, even though it is plus temperatures? Why has everyone who lived here abandoned their homes? Who is the strange girl who appears and then suddenly disappears? And how can the strange birthmark that Josef has on his hand have a special connection to Freivik?
With his newfound friend Jenny, Josef begins to unravel these riddles, finding threads all the way back to the Viking Age. But what begins as an innocent school assignment soon becomes dangerous when they are confronted with the mythological creature that lives under the ice…
